Abel Mavura

Abel Mavura is a Zimbabwean, UK-based systems thinker and social entrepreneur with over 13 years of experience leading development initiatives across Africa, Asia, and Europe. A member of the International Society for Systems Sciences (ISSS) since 2024, he drives interdisciplinary solutions to global challenges. Abel is a PhD candidate in Development Studies focusing on migration at the Africa Research Institute and is pursuing an MPhil/PhD in Architecture and Urban Studies at the University of Cambridge, supported by the Cambridge Trust Clutton-Brock Award. His research explores spatial designs to enhance resilience in informal urban housing, integrating an architectural lens with the intersections of migration, informality, and urban governance.
